Important Splashers' Season Information!

Hello Splashers Families,

We are SO excited to kick off another fun and successful summer swim season! Please take a moment to thoroughly read all the important details for the upcoming season. Attached is also an audio version of this email.

Our Team Goal & Overview

Our goal is to develop foundational swim skills, build a love for the sport, and teach teamwork and good sportsmanship.

We have a very experienced coaching staff and some with new faces. We are so excited to work with your swimmers this season. Please take a moment to review our coaching bios here:Coach Bios

For the benefit of all athletes, we ask that all coaching comes from the coaching staff only. Skill development takes time, and each swimmer progresses at their own pace. We are here to support them every step of the way.

Practice Information

Practice times and group assignments can be found here:Practice Schedule

  • Swimmers should attend their assigned practice
  • If a practice is missed, please do not attend another group without prior coach approval. We cannot accommodate the same day at practice requests.
  • For schedule conflicts, reach out at least 2 days in advance. If we can safely accommodate these requests, we will. There is no guarantee.

First Day Reminder:

  • Our first day is Tuesday April 28th.
  • Please come prepared with a swimsuit, goggles, and swim cap, and a labeled water bottle for our 7 & up groups.

Practice Structure:

  • Mon–Wed: Skill development & conditioning
  • Thursdays: Team-building activities
  • Early season focus will be on kicking as a foundation, followed by drills

Week 1 Overview

  • Lane assignments will be emailed April 27th. If you do not see your swimmer on the list, contact Coach Alison at [email protected]
  • The first few days focus on grouping swimmers, building endurance through kicking, and team character education.
  • Lane placement/practice groups may adjust as we get to know each swimmer.
  • Intrasquad Meet (end of Week 1: Friday 5/1): a great intro to swim meets that includes just our team.
    • Registration deadline: Tuesday 4/28 at midnight

Practice Expectations for Families

  • Our priority is swimmer safety and instruction. If you have questions, please email us rather than approaching coaches during practice so we can stay focused on the athletes
  • Seating is in the grassy area near the entry gates only
  • Pool deck, pergolas, and surrounding areas are for swimmers and coaches only
  • Young siblings must remain outside the gated pool area for safety reasons
  • Non-members should park in the back gravel lot only.
    • We will prop open the back gate for the first week until gate cards arrive and are distributed.
  • Please help return chairs after use by stacking them by the clubhouse wall.

Swim Meets & Participation

Detailed meet info and “how to” steps can be found here:Swim Meet Instructions

Key reminders:

  • Swimmers must declare attendance by Tuesday at midnight each week
  • Events are assigned based on legal technique demonstrated in practice
  • Coaches may adjust entries as needed
  • Relay spots (including alternates) go to swimmers who declare on time
  • Late entries are not guaranteed

Championship Requirements:

  • Swim in at least 2 official meets (intrasquad does not count)
  • Have a legal swim time in the event

Volunteer Requirement:

Our sport requires a lot of help to run meets. We kindly ask at least one parent per family volunteer at each meet their athlete is in. This helps everything run smoothly and models teamwork for our swimmers.

SPLASH Values

SPLASH helps swimmers grow both in and out of the water. We will review these during the first week and practice them throughout the season. You may hear the coaches/kids say “SPLASH” throughout the season as this is our way of holding each other accountable to these values positively.

SPLASH stands for:

  • Support teammates
  • Positive attitude
  • Lead with kindness
  • Adapt to change
  • Stay on task
  • Help others

Each week we will recognize based on the SPLASH characters above:

  • Splasher of the Week (by practice group, coaches rotate by week on pick)
  • Team of the Week

We are looking forward to a great season full of growth, teamwork, and fun.

Thank you for your time, and…

Go Splashers!

Best,

Splashers Coaching Staff
